Catching Up

Wellllll....it's been awhile. So, I've got some catching up to do.

Rewind to Kaitlyn's first birthday!! I've got a few more pictures to share.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!

Then, the week following Kaitlyn's birthday was quite a big one for her! On her birthday, she had 2 teeth. By the end of the week following Kaitlyn's birthday, she had 6! Yes, she got 4 teeth in one week! She also is totally on a sippy cup now. She moved to a forward facing car seat. And she is now bouncing back and forth between two naps a day and one nap a day. So many transitions! As for me -- I'm really quite sad about it all. This little baby, who was such a challenge when she was born; who I had to bounce up and down the hallway for hours on end just to please her; who refused to sleep in her crib for weeks months; who fussed screamed anytime you put her in the car seat; who hated the stroller; this little munchkin who I love so much, is growing up too quickly! It makes me realize how I need to relish in every little moment with her. Even the sleep deprived, crabby baby, doesn't want to nap, teething, grumpy moments.

Second on the list of catch-ups. Our house. We finally closed on it the week after Kaitlyn's birthday. What a relief. For any of you looking to take on a short-sale, good luck! It took us months. I'm so glad that process is finally over. Although I did start some painting before we closed, I really kicked it into high gear after we closed. I've got the living room done. Kaitlyn's room done. Our bedroom done. There are a few things I'm waiting to complete before posting some pictures, but I should have those things done soon. These are just the little odds and ends. Little decor things and a few pieces of furniture. I'm going to be moving onto the hallway/stairway and the guest bathroom next. I'm hoping I can convince Jeff to turn the 'guest' bathroom into a "kid's bathroom." He isn't too fond of having a playful, non-adult bathroom, but maybe I can come up with a cute idea that can easily be converted to an adult bathroom. I've been searching on the internet for some inspiration...

Last, I'm 28 today. Happy Birthday to me. Unfortunately, I'm spending most of the day cleaning. We have some wonderful friends coming into town tonight (yayyyyy!!!!!!!) so my birthday will be spent preparing. However, the next couple days, while our friends are in town, we'll probably do a bit of celebrating. It'll be fun just to have some great people spending time with us! Annndddddd, if any of you want to get me a great, easy, and cheap birthday present, please visit www.chrisrideswithwings.com and support my older brother, Justin, as he does a memorial ride for our younger brother, Christopher. You can also become a fan on facebook by visiting the Ride With Wings page here. It would mean more to me than any gift you could buy in a store!
